Sugar Sense: Menu Bar Glucose places a continuous glucose monitoring reading in the macOS menu bar. The status item shows the current value with a trend arrow, colored by glucose zone. Clicking it opens a dropdown with a large reading, the time of the last update and a three hour sparkline graph.
Glucose sources are connected through a Sugar Sense account: FreeStyle Libre 2 and 3 (via LibreLinkUp), Dexcom G6 and G7 (via Dexcom Share; not compatible with Dexcom ONE), and any Nightscout site. Sugar Sense servers read the source about every 5 minutes, and the Mac app refreshes its reading every minute.
The app is read only and never suggests insulin doses. Readings older than 15 minutes are shown as No Data rather than as a current value. Glucose alerts are handled by the Sugar Sense iPhone and Android apps; the menu bar itself does not sound alarms.
The same bundle contains the Sugar Sense extension for Safari, which shows a zone colored glucose badge in the browser toolbar.
Additional options include Launch at Login, a manual Refresh Now action and a shortcut to the Sugar Sense web dashboard.
